You may have seen news of a new development in the Free Zone world and I am writing to tell you about it so as to avoid confusion. Earlier this week I was invited to Dubai to witness the launch of World FZO, based at Dubai Airport Free Zone.
We have had warm assurances of co-operation and collaboration between this new body and World Free Zone Convention and look forward to being in close touch with its Chairman and board members. As you know WFZC is totally independent and with 14 years of experience in the world of Free and Special Economic zones we will have an important role to play. Your assistance as one of our global Ambassadors will be of great value.
If you have any comments or thoughts which you would like to share with me please feel free to contact me directly. I shall be at our next event in Amsterdam on the 24th/25th June which is to be held at the International Bureau for Fiscal Documentation as part of our ongoing outreach to international organisations. This Seminar will examine in depth the tax and incentives debate which affects investments worldwide and is of crucial importance to zones' competitiveness.
Between now and then I will be visiting China to host a FTZ dialogue at the invitation of the Shanghai Forum.
Graham Mather, Chairman, World Free Zone Convention and President, European Policy Forum, London and Brussels.
